4 TopTips for Packing Your Box n Go Storage Rooms Holding 40 to 50 medium-sized moving cartons (max 1,000kgs), follow these “4 top tips” to ensure safe & easy loading and unloading of your Box n Go storage Room Box n Go’s portable storage Rooms are designed to be safe and easy to load and unload. Many people are surprised by what they can fit into one Box n Go Room — an average room to a room-and-a-half of furniture or 40 to 50 medium-sized moving cartons. Tip 1 - Inventory your belongings Always begin with an inventory list of the items you'll be packing in your storage Room.
Then, separate your items by type and size to ease the packing process. For example, clothing will go in wardrobe cartons, and books and other heavier items will go in small cartons. Tip 2 - Pack your belongings
Be sure to carefully wrap fragile items separately using bubble wrap or newsprint. Large appliances such as refrigerators and freezers should be cleaned thoroughly, doors left slightly ajar to prevent mould and mildew, and all moving parts taped down to prevent damage. House Packing Tips
Whenever possible, disassemble furniture to save space. Wrap upholstered furniture in sofa and chair covers. Cover mattresses and box springs in protective bags. Pack hanging clothing in wardrobe cartons, leaving smaller clothing items in dresser drawers. Cover bicycles and tools with moving blankets or paper pads to prevent oil, rust and dirt from staining other items. Always wrap mirrors and pictures and pack in special-purpose boxes, placing them vertically in the storage Rooms. Do not lay flat. Pack books and files in small cartons for easy lifting. Fill boxes and cartons completely to avoid contents shifting and prevent the boxes from being crushed. Securely close all cartons to ensure contents remain intact. Clearly mark each carton with its contents. This will make it easier when it’s time to unpack.
Tip 3 - Pack your Box n Go storage room Never load more than 1,000 kilograms in your storage Room. Have a general plan of the order and placement of the items you will be packing considering the following additional tips. Distribute weight evenly throughout the storage Room. In other words, don't place too many heavy items on one side. Stand couches on end to make the best use of space. Place heavier items on the floor of the storage Room, stacking lighter items on top. Pack items as tightly as possible in the container to prevent movement and shifting during transport. Place items you may need to access in the front of the storage Room making them easier to access.
Tip 4 - Secure your Box n Go storage Secure your storage Room with a reliable padlock when unattended or packing is complete. Once packing is complete secure your storage Room by locking it and retaining the key.
