A truly carbon neutral storage and moving business
Like you we care for the environment. When you use Box n Go you’ll have the comfort of knowing our storage and moving services are carbon neutral.
Box n Go is an accredited carbon neutral business
Global warming is changing the way the world does business. Consumers are demanding low carbon products and services – we are proud that our Company, Box n Go, is certified NoC02.
Our NoC02 certification means that we have measured, reduced and offset our total greenhouse gas impact. The NoC02 certification means we are carbon neutral as we have negated all greenhouse emissions that occur as a consequence of our operation.
NoC02 certification is the highest form of certification offered by the Carbon Reduction Institute. Box n Go is an accredited carbon neutral business.
How Box n Go offsets emissions with carbon credits
Offsetting emissions is a process whereby we purchase carbon credits to neutralise our global warming impact. Each carbon credit purchased represents the abatement or sequestration of one tonne of C02 equivalent greenhouse gases – or carbon emissions – from the atmosphere.
We purchase carbon credits through the Carbon Reduction Institute www.noco2.com.au.
► The certification process
We have an agreement with the Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) for expedited NoCO2 certification, which is an offering that CRI provides to start up companies. Under this agreement, the Carbon Reduction Institute have estimated the footprint that Box n Go will incur from items such as the purchase of assets, staff ground travel and the use of 3rd party services (such as accountants, lawyers and marketing consultants) in the first 6 months of operations. This estimate will be reviewed after 6 months and another estimate will be made to deem the expected impact from the following 6 months.
We must purchase accredited carbon credits to offset the estimated emissions from the first 12 months of our operations.Furthermore,we must report to the Carbon Reduction Institute each quarter on all of its directly controllable emissions, including flights, electricity consumption and waste. The emissions from these sources will then be offset each quarter. This is performed through CRI’s online emissions reporting portal.
To cover off on any uncertainties in this approach, we have agreed to have a full carbon audit encompassing the emissions from all purchases made as well as the emissions from staff travel and waste after it has completed 12 months worth of operations. Through execution of the agreement, Box n GO is liable to cover the shortfall between the amount offset and the amount emitted through the purchase of carbon credits, should the latter amount exceed the former.

Box n Go’s 2008 Fleet vehicles reduce Greenhouse Emissions through lower fuel consumption
All our fleet vehicles run on diesel and all vehicles – trucks, twin-cab utes, and fork lifts – were purchased new in 2008. One litre of diesel burned in an engine will produce 2.68kg of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Improved fuel efficiency drastically reduces CO2.
Our new 2008 Isuzu FVL 1400 flat-bed truck, for example, saves 5% fuel when compared to the 2006 model which we estimate will represent a CO2 savings of 4,556 kg per annum (Isuzu Australia Limited, January 2008).
► New Australian Design Rules set higher emission standards
All vehicles sold in Australia are required to meet Australian Design Rules (ADR’s), a set of national standards covering areas including design, safety and emissions. ADR’s are regularly updated in an effort to improve the quality of vehicles manufactured in, or imported to Australia.
From 29 February 2008, new trucks sold in Australia must meet the latest ADR80/02 exhaust emissions standards. Vehicles with engines rated to either the European Euro IV or United States US EPA04 measures are generally acceptable under ADR80/02.
► Box n Go’s 2008 Isuzu trucks are rated to Euro IV substantially improving air quality gases
Our new 2008 Isuzu trucks are rated to Euro IV which is substantially ‘cleaner’ especially when it comes to emission particulate matter (PM), the smoke, soot and harmful invisible unburned hydro carbons, emitted from a truck. PM levels from our trucks are 98% lower compared to trucks sold back in 1995 – you’ll not see any black exhaust plume following a Box n Go vehicle!
Box n Go’s storage and moving Rooms are carbon neutral
The Box n Go Room is constructed out of wood (from managed forests) with pressure treated wood at the bottom of the Room to protect your belongings from groundwater or rain water while the Room is on your property. The wood frame allows the Room to “breathe” while stored in our storage facility (metal boxes can sweat and experience interior condensation when the humidity and temperature change). When the Box n Go Room is out of our storage facility, it is covered with a heavy-duty, water-proof cover to protect your belongings.
